Hello everyone.

According to the builder, our floor-to-ceiling windows have been properly sealed from the INSIDE.

The exterior sealing is supposedly our responsibility...

How would you go about doing this?

There will be a fully covered terrace in front of all the windows... but I still think everything should be sealed correctly.

Or am I worrying unnecessarily?

Open front door during construction with foundation and insulation at the building corner.

I received a response from the roofer today:

6 elements:
3 full-height with 2.5m (8 feet) width
2 full-height with 1m (3 feet 3 inches) width
1 entrance with approximately 1.5m (5 feet) width
Gross price = 900 €

He added that some facing bricks, about 30cm (12 inches) to the left and right, need to be removed to create a stop point, as he needs to work behind the brickwork.
He mentioned using a liquid compound or something similar.

After consulting with the bricklayer: he is also estimating around 800 € and expects 20-30 hours of work.

Phew... really annoying.

That is a fair price for such a small job (please do not take this literally).

I have now handed the whole thing over to a roofer friend of a colleague.

He is installing 4 windows, each 1m (3 feet 3 inches), one entrance door measuring 2m (6 feet 6 inches), and one side door of 1m (3 feet 3 inches) for 350€ as a friendly favor.

He approaches the brick heads from the side, so we avoid having to remove any bricks...

It’s probably not 1000% compliant with DIN standards, but better than nothing...

It’s incredible how cheap building is for you. 30 hours for 800 euros, but those are definitely low wages.

Including materials?

I have paid enough for the brickwork... I think otherwise he would have charged even more. I don’t know how long they actually take in the end, it could also be fewer hours.
