Hello everyone,
I need some help deciding the best way to position our house. The plot size is 498 square meters (5358 square feet). The house should be around 150 to 160 square meters (1615 to 1722 square feet). We have only roughly drawn it on the plan; the foundation slab dimensions are not fixed yet. The garage can be built right on the boundary line, but otherwise a setback of three meters (10 feet) from the property lines must be observed. We have now sketched two ideas. Could you tell me which option you prefer? If you have any other suggestions, I’m open to those as well. Our plot is the last one on the street opposite No. 14. Thanks in advance and best regards, Nadine

Many builders imagine that this would mean they could park anywhere on their property. Then a joker comes along and places a streetlight there simply because there’s no parking bay at that spot. But in your case, I assume it’s actually a turning area. Yes, exactly, there is a turning area there. All the streetlights are already in place, so we won’t be surprised by that anymore.

Still, first focus on planning the house itself... that's more important than the exterior and will be defined through the planning anyway. Thanks, yes, I’m currently working on the floor plan. In the evenings, after the kids are in bed, and my husband wants to draw it in a software program so we can also add windows and make sure the dimensions fit.

Maybe I’ll find time in the summer to create a drawing tutorial; amateur planners often make things much harder than they need to be.https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/

But we prefer graph paper.
Regarding the software, you should check out the pinned post in the subforum: such programs can sometimes be counterproductive.

I just have difficulty with the measurements, like when I draw a floor plan, making sure that the kitchen, stairs, etc., are not too big or too small. Also, whether a window or door that I place actually fits in that spot...
