Hello,
I am currently trying to solve a problem in our guest bathroom. Contrary to the original plan, the light connection for the toilet was installed on the wall instead of the ceiling, directly above the washbasin. A mirror is supposed to be installed there.
The bathroom is very small, only 2 sqm (22 sq ft).
Do you have any solutions for this issue? Would lighting from a mirror with built-in illumination be sufficient? Do you have any experience with that?
I have attached a picture of the bathroom. Unfortunately, the light connection is not visible. You can roughly see where the light comes from. At the moment, there is a bare bulb holder installed.

Replace the switch with a porcelain surface-mounted switch and run an attractive cable with porcelain fittings up to the ceiling, then along the ceiling to the lighting point, and connect a lamp. Gi Gambarelli offers this, for example the White-Italy series. You can search online; it’s an Italian site with limited German translation but good images.
It might also be possible to bring power from an adjacent room (e.g., utility room) and make the light switchable or activate it with a motion sensor.
I wouldn’t want to miss the ceiling light in the guest toilet (though the mirror is still missing here) — photo taken from the floor upwards.

When choosing lighting, besides "looking good," practical use must always be considered. That’s why it should be placed on the wall above the washbasin! That’s what you call practical.
