Hello,

by now there are quite a few different household appliances for cleaning floors, such as robotic mops, electric wet mops, and steam cleaners. Do you use any of these, or do you simply use a bucket with a mop?

Best regards,

We don’t make a big deal out of it.
Large debris is swept up.
Fine dirt is vacuumed.
Damp and sticky spots are wiped clean.
Regularly, with a bucket and cloth.
Using a simple eco-friendly cleaning agent and water.
There is a vacuum robot that runs once a day on the ground floor.

Tip: Don’t run the vacuum robot if only a pet is home. It can spread diarrhea or vomit, as a friend of mine found out.

Tiles are vacuumed using a suction vacuum (corded handheld vacuum), and if necessary, cleaned with a damp to wet mop (the laundry room and later the kitchen both have a floor drain, so the floor can basically be covered with water *laugh*). The small bathroom upstairs, with its 4m² (43 sq ft) minus the shower area, I usually wipe by hand with a damp microfiber cloth or with a small mop head attached.
Parquet flooring is also vacuumed and occasionally wiped with a barely damp cloth.

Robot vacuum cleaners on all levels, along with a Dyson handheld vacuum and occasional wet mopping. Always take off shoes indoors. This helps keep dirt to a minimum.
The robot vacuum must suit the furnishings. Some interiors do not allow robot vacuums at all.

I use these microfiber cloths for mopping the floor.

On your knees or how?

We have a small cordless stick vacuum from AEG, which can also be detached as a handheld vacuum. We use it to clean daily dirt from the entrance area and dining space.

Same here: the AEG is so light, it only takes about 2 minutes for the ground floor. It’s not 100% perfect, but that’s okay.
A few times a year, we mop with a Vileda.
Kitchen stains are immediately wiped off with a damp cloth.

I’m already thinking about how to keep everything as easy to clean and maintain as possible so it stays nice for a long time, even though we haven’t moved in yet.

We made sure that no dust, lint, or hair is visible.

Daily use of a Swiffer and the classic horsehair hall broom, 80cm (31.5 inches) wide. In between, a spray mop, and on weekends, the mop cloth. For crumbs, a Dibea 200 Pro, a Chinese vacuum cleaner that works really well.

A Xiaomi Roborock will come into play once the children stop leaving their toys around.

I’ve heard that vacuum cleaners sometimes pick up toys if they’re left on the floor—and then the toys disappear :O

It works as a warning at my neighbor’s, but I think mine is too stubborn...
