The development plan for our plot allows a pitched roof with a slope between 22° and 45°. Do you know of any websites where I can visually explore what different roof pitches look like, or do you have experience or impressions regarding the appearance? I am particularly interested in an aesthetically pleasing effect.

The exterior dimensions of the currently favored two-story house are 9.40 m x 9.40 m (31 ft x 31 ft). Unfortunately, I do not yet know the height of the house.

We have a 9.615 x 9.615 m (31.5 x 31.5 ft) structure with a hip roof and a 22° pitch. There is also a small connecting section to the garage. I can send you a photo of the shell construction this evening.

9.5 x 9.5 meters (31 x 31 feet) with a 28° roof pitch and a 60 cm (24 inches) roof overhang

Two-story new build house: white facade on top, dark bricks on the bottom, large window fronts.

You’ve already mentioned the most important part (at least half of it), which is that it will be two stories—I assume something like a townhouse. The other half is the viewing distance. I answered your question over two years ago here: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/Walmdach-ideale-Neigung.25192/page-4#post-219240. By the way, the path from @R.Hotzenplotz to the disaster house was also paved with numerous questions about individual aspects. Your other two main competitors for the crown for many individual topic threads are (if I exclude those with secret overall projects) @chrisw81 (his house is “just” a mess, but not a “disaster”) and @blaupuma (his house, in my opinion, was built with relatively few complications, though not really to my taste). What I mainly want to say is: obsessing over dozens of tiny details unfortunately doesn’t reliably lead to a better-planned house.

Set the angle anywhere between 28° and 30°, as this is the optimal tilt for photovoltaic output.
