Hello everyone.

Our windows are (according to the window manufacturer) RAL7016.
Our window sills (these were installed by the company that did the exterior plastering—only God knows why) are supposedly also RAL7016.
They are plastic windows with aluminum window sills.

However, the color difference is very noticeable!

Do I have to accept this?

The now subjectively perceived extreme difference will likely become less noticeable over time. The angle of incoming light is also different between the frame and the window.

Personally, I think it looks good. However, I was frugal myself and chose the silver window sills for the anthracite-colored windows.

Well, that’s how color matching goes. It’s always just “similar to RAL XXXX.”
You won’t get an exact match anyway because of different materials, different suppliers, and so on.

Our first purchase in the house building project was an RAL color fan K5 Classic. That is the reference; then the trades provide sample pieces to compare. Otherwise, it’s a bit of a lottery, as you’re experiencing now.

Who would you want to hold accountable now? Who is further off from the desired color?
The general contractor?

Hey, it doesn’t look great, but as mentioned, the color codes are usually just approximate RAL xx.

That’s why we also avoided using the same shades on different building components—it always ends up looking intentional but poorly done.

Maybe a silly question. Are those water stains or small puddles, snowflakes with plaster spots on the windowsill, or is there possibly a protective film that still needs to be removed? Unfortunately, I cannot tell from the picture.

Well, two different materials mean other colors are possible, which I personally don’t mind. But honestly, you won’t even notice it after two weeks.
