Our plot slopes down from street level by almost 1.80m (6 feet). Please see the image below (each square corresponds to 1 meter (3 feet)).
Now to my question: Could you share your opinions on whether you would prefer a basement or to raise the ground level? Since we want to position the house as close to the street as possible, it’s not clear if opting for a basement is the best solution here. The plot is somewhat “in between” in this regard.

How is the neighboring plot developed?
I think the garage is on the south side.
Will you still get daylight in the basement despite the south side, due to the neighboring buildings?
What rooms are you planning for the basement?
Only technical and storage rooms, or “well, if there’s space, then a guest room” – in that case the basement is too expensive.

That seems a bit expensive to me.
From my perspective, the plot has not just an unremarkable but almost exemplary uniform slope – at least within the surveyed area. However, the surveyed area is not the entire plot, as indicated by the garage outside this section. So, is this the building envelope for the main building?
For now, I don’t see any compelling reason for a basement. Try drawing the desired floor plan position within the entire plot.
