Hey,

the question is basically already in the title.

How much space would be optimal for this? Maybe some of you also have pictures to share?

Thanks

The question is quite vague, though. How much space for what? Just enough to install an electrical outlet there? 10x10cm (4x4 inches) long.

Um, yes, that’s to make sure you can install an electrical outlet there. The outlet is also mentioned in the title.

But thanks.

I’ve attached a photo above that I found from our project. The box itself is about 60mm (2.4 inches). The frame later will be about 80mm (3.1 inches). So with 10cm (4 inches) you’re fine. The mounting height depends on your windowsill. If I remember correctly, we installed our sockets at 105cm (41 inches), so they are at the same height as the light switches, but I’m not entirely sure anymore.

Ah, cool, thanks also for the picture. The height is not relevant in this case since it’s for the window band, where the windowsill would be placed higher anyway. I was just thinking about it – hence the question – whether it’s possible to install electrical outlets there, because the wall is 17.5cm (7 inches) thick, plus the exterior insulation system. And the window frame also reduces the depth further.

That is a very good question!!! One of the few points that didn’t go perfectly for us.

We have a finished reveal measurement of 13.5cm (5¼ inches), including plaster, and that was not enough for us!!!!

The explanation from the electrician made quite a bit of sense at the time, why the window would have needed to be moved further outward. I believe the reason was the width of the plaster profile.
