Development Plan / Restrictions
Plot size = 600 m² (6458 sq ft)
Number of floors = 2
Roof type = Gable
Client Requirements
2 children’s bedrooms
1 office
1 walk-in closet
1 bedroom
Guest toilet and bathroom
Open-plan kitchen and living area
1 utility room
Double garage with storage area
House Design
Found on the internet
Why is the design like it is now?
Plan currently fits best
Utility room and office swapped due to door leading to garage
Dislike the large hallway on the first floor
The footprint of 9.5 x 9.5 m (31 x 31 ft) should be maintained
Layout should be as simple and cost-effective as possible
No unnecessary features
What is the most important/basic question about the floor plan in 130 characters?
More elegant solutions with less hallway space loss?

The reason we chose this setup at the moment is because there is a main road running alongside the garage side. Such information should be provided first and foremost.

I already addressed that and now have a draft. You should know: we can’t read minds here.
Personally, I still don’t know what your property looks like. I would have to open several windows on my computer and compare everything. Your lines in #1 really require some skill to interpret.
And now a picture of a large green area — a distant main road suddenly becomes a problem? Which part of that is actually your property?
You are not directly on the main road anyway. I wouldn’t worry about blocking the sun because of that.
No sunlight will reach the terrace.
At least rotate the layout by 90 degrees to have a west-facing orientation and move the garage as far as possible to the southeast.
Try visiting the property on a Sunday evening; it will definitely be much quieter then.

Try visiting the property on a Sunday evening; it will definitely be much quieter then. Just look at the shadow cast by the neighboring building. It clearly shows that the terrace will be quite dark. This is probably one of the worst locations you can have. That’s why having a precise site plan including all measurements (external dimensions, building plot, building boundaries, access road, etc.) is important, so you can assess what options are available.
The issue with the shadow is really a problem.
We were there, and you can hear the traffic even standing in the middle of the plot.

There is no peace anywhere.
I don’t live in a particularly quiet area either, but placing a house in such a shady spot clearly requires a few more cars and tractors.
We even sleep with the windows open. At least you don’t oversleep that way. From around 6 a.m., traffic increases and the first car doors slam. It gets quieter after 6 p.m., and there is little activity at night. Occasionally, someone goes to get money. On Saturday afternoons and Sundays, unless there is church, it’s quiet.

I have now marked the plot as 25m x 20m (82ft x 66ft) and copied the floor plan next to it, aligned.Resolution is too low. Can you build on the entire plot with the house? Or are there any building lines or boundaries?
25 x 20 = 500m² (5,382ft²) <> 600m² (6,458ft²) from #1. Don’t you know your plot?
