Good morning everyone,

As the year is coming to an end, hopefully most projects for 2019 are completed. What are your plans for 2020? Any major projects in the garden or upgrades inside the house? What will you be working on next year?

We want to finally finish and move in by January/February, so gardening and the terrace will be on the agenda for next year.

My personal passion project is the hot tub. I just haven't decided yet whether to buy one or build it myself. I definitely don’t want one of those plastic ones...

A concrete one would be amazing:

I had planned that for a long time but never got around to it due to lack of time. Recently, I came across ioBroker and decided to give it a try. Using just a basic Raspberry Pi and no prior knowledge of ioBroker, I managed to set up graphical data analysis over time for various Xiaomi sensors within two hours. Of course, you can spend much more time on dashboards, smart controls, and so on.

What did you use for the visualization? With Vis?

Project 2020:

Still hoping for a miracle & to find a reasonably affordable existing house in the Dresden area or to inherit/be offered a plot of land from a person unknown to us (but maybe they exist?!)

So: Most likely I will be reading the forum daily in 2020, saving up equity and continuing to rent a house

We have also looked around the Dresden region but then switched to Leipzig, among other reasons because of the many lakes. We found a plot of land there through ImmobilienScout and now hope to be able to buy a house soon. Are you tied to Dresden?

Our project for 2020 is to move into our new house (we have already signed the land purchase contract and are now waiting for the property transfer tax assessment), which we hope to buy later this year, and to sell our current house.

Therefore, for 2020, we plan to monitor the construction site, handle the usual visits to authorities (building permit / planning permission), move, and develop the garden.

You don’t have a construction company yet. Moving in by 2020 won’t be possible.

No, just Flowchart and the History module. I simply saved various links for the charts: 2 days, 14 days, temperature/humidity, etc. That’s enough for my needs. With Vis, you can create nice things, but two hours weren’t enough for that.

We are supposedly getting the move-in date December 2020 written into the purchase agreement. I want to try to have a penalty clause included in the contract. Some companies do that; if ours doesn’t want to, we will reconsider our options.
