ᐅ Stringer partially in front of window – should the stringer be notched out?

Dear forum members,

We have just received the plans for our U-shaped staircase.
As we feared, part of it will run in front of the hallway window.
One idea from the staircase builder is to cut out the stringer in the visible window area and add an extra tread that extends in front of the window.
It looks good on the drawing at first, but I’m not sure if it will look good in real life with such an irregular stringer...
Certainly, the window could make it look nice again, but I’m still uncertain...

Attached are photos of the plan...
Thank you for your opinions!

I could imagine that this unevenness caused by the recessed side panel might not be very noticeable since it follows the window line.
Exactly, and conversely, that this special feature would go down in family history and be talked about at every family gathering of guests ever invited by you. And right now, I’m too lazy to scroll back to see when I probably already made a similar suggestion like

With your last-minute uncertainties, I sometimes wonder how often planes have already taxied back to the runway at your request.

I would have left it like that. Just google "staircase in front of window." There are several photos that look very similar. I don’t necessarily find it problematic.
I think so too. Changing the stringer might actually draw more attention to it.

This is not about uncertainty; I just wanted to discuss a suggestion from the staircase builder. I also want the final result to look as reasonable and good as possible, given what is still feasible.
Making changes later is always problematic.

Fixed glazing installed and finished. Do not alter the geometry of the jamb—that’s annoying.

I would also go for fixed glazing and continue the jamb. The jamb only covers the small corner and does not go across the window.

It is already fixed glazing. We also knew that the staircase would extend slightly in front of the window, but moving it wasn’t really possible. The house is already built and the staircase will be installed in two weeks. The stair builder didn’t like it and made this suggestion with the knee wall.
I’m also leaning towards continuing the knee wall.
