Hello everyone.
A new neighbor in our development is installing their gas boiler and hot water tank in the uninsulated attic.
In other words, they have a cold roof, just like us.
They said they will build an insulated “box” around the equipment.
Is that possible? If so, it could be an idea for us as well! What should the wall construction of this box be like to ensure effective insulation?
Has anyone here had any experience with this?

Structural calculations okay? Such a water storage tank can get quite heavy...Ah, how heavy exactly? 200kg-300kg per m2 (44-61 lb per sq ft), about the weight of 2-3 people, so not concerning. Or is it going to be an 800-liter (210-gallon) tank?tomtom79 schrieb:

After all, there are 300 kilograms per 1m2 (approximately 43 pounds per square foot) on a wooden beam ceiling. But since the beam rests on a wall, the construction supervisor considers it safe.
Regarding insulation:
We have 160mm (6.3 inches) rafters. I want to fit 160mm (6.3 inches) of insulation wool with a thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/mK between them and then seal it with a vapor barrier (Alujet Topjet with a Sd value >100). Are there any objections?
