Hello,

I would like to know your opinions on the topic of photovoltaic systems.
The plan is for a house with 140 sqm (1507 sq ft) with a south-facing roof.
Is financing such a system worthwhile?
What are your personal experiences in this area?
Do you have to feed the electricity into the grid, or is it allowed/possible to use it yourself?
Are there any special incentives or subsidies available?

What disadvantages does installing such a system have (please don’t mention “appearance”)?

Statements like these are too simplistic. It also depends on the ratio of system size to storage capacity and the household’s demand.
My photovoltaic system, with just under 7kWp, which is considered "medium-sized," generates significantly more electricity per day in summer than my household requires. Even the best battery won’t help in this case.

But yes, storage is basically a hobby. This could change when the photovoltaic subsidies expire.

There is also a metering concept that includes a separate meter for the heat pump while still using the photovoltaic electricity.
But however it is implemented – it would be unwise not to connect the biggest electricity consumer to the photovoltaic system.

Do you have more detailed information about this?

Thanks!

Right, got confused, it was due to the number – incredibly high electricity consumption...
But with a battery, you should definitely be reaching close to 100% in summer; otherwise, it’s pretty pointless.

Heat pump, circulation line, 2 households, small child, clothes dryer, 3 refrigerators, air conditioning, rain shower... highest degree of self-sufficiency was 88%. If I turn off the air conditioning, circulation line, and ventilation, certainly over 90%. But do I really want that?

Is it possible to finance a photovoltaic system to be “cost-neutral”? Unfortunately, we have no money left...
KfW with 0.5% effective interest ... for me, €79/month (about $84/month) over 15 years

We are also getting a separate meter for the heat pump, but honestly, I haven’t found a “cheap” tariff for it yet. Or is it more about buying inexpensive night electricity?
Yes, there are providers offering “heat electricity” – I still have this, but it’s going away because otherwise there’s no link between storage/photovoltaics and the heat pump. I want to trigger the heat pump via HomeManager and fully utilize the storage. Integration of photovoltaics + storage + heat pump + weather forecasts.

Heat electricity currently costs about €0.20/kWh (about $0.21/kWh) plus a basic fee ...

I just learned that this can be managed through a cascade connection of the meters, right?

Yes. Just search for other forums about photovoltaics. Links are not allowed here. With moderate consumption, a single meter is sufficient.
