Hello everyone,

What options do you see for a stormproof patio roof that can be partially opened in winter (for example, sliding)? The roof should provide shade in summer (so a glass roof is not necessary) and let through as much light as possible in winter.

Is there a manufacturer for such roofs?

However, we would all be interested in that. This is not a private message platform after all.

Well, I don’t really see that as a disadvantage — I don’t have to anticipate the rain.

But what about the daylight?

There will be a roofed terrace in front of our living room window. I want protection from the weather but still want natural light in the living room. A louvered roof can’t provide that.

The price was not great. €10,000 for a 4m x 3.5m (13.1 ft x 11.5 ft) do-it-yourself project. In comparison, there is a current offer for an aluminum patio roof with 10mm laminated safety glass (VSG), including an electric awning, measuring 5m x 4.5m (16.4 ft x 14.8 ft) with installation, for the same price. It would even be €800 cheaper if I chose to omit the center beam.

Still, I was glad to see a comparison price, as I also like a louvered roof.

Yes, Thorsten has 6 posts where the louvered roof is noticeably praised as a miracle solution, accompanied by private message references... I think you're probably right.
