Hello,
The concrete slab was poured and covered with a sheet.
Now, without the sheet, the reinforcement is exposed in several areas of the slab. (Photos)
Is this a defect? What can be done?
The steel is visible in some places, and even the structure of the reinforcement mesh can be seen in certain spots.

Well, someone definitely didn’t do their best here... I’m not sure if it counts as a defect, but it still serves its purpose since there is reinforcement inside, and it probably won’t be an issue later on once the screed is applied. However, I would definitely discuss with your floor slab installer that they put in minimal effort. I wouldn’t really call it a defect…

As far as I know, for corrosion protection reasons, the steel must be covered by 5cm (2 inches).

Yes, it must be covered, but the shown areas will be covered later by the following masonry work. Maybe not a big issue?

It is a defect, although not a particularly serious one.
However, I would still point it out and keep a close eye on things going forward!

What should be used? Masonry or timber frame construction?
