Hello,
There is a damp spot on a basement wall that stretches over about 3 meters (10 feet). The basement does not have any odor, and the dampness appears to be mostly superficial. This area is mainly used for ironing, washing, and hanging laundry. Could this be the cause? How can I determine if it might be water damage or something similar? I don’t want to hire an expert right away.
Thanks for your answers!

There can be many causes...
- It could be because you are drying your laundry in the basement.
- Constantly ventilating the basement during the temperatures of the past few weeks might also not be beneficial.
- Or @KlausiMausi’s assumption, or a combination of everything.
- What is going on with the tiled floor in front?
There are moisture meters from Trotec and other manufacturers available.
