Hello everyone,
I am currently at the stage of planning our own home where I need to define the sizes for windows, patio doors, and interior doors. Are there standard dimensions for these, or do you have any recommendations?
We look forward to your feedback.
Best regards, David

We have that, and it was a major reason for giving up our own production. Homeowners often miscalculate when it comes to various supposed must-haves (which they don’t really need, but their neighbors have them anyway), and then windows become the trade where they try to make up for it with heavy discounts. Either you are not reading carefully or you don’t want to understand:
This is not about a cheap online shop or something similar; it is about INDIVIDUALITY!

This is not about a cheap online shop or something like that, it is about INDIVIDUALITY! You are also not reading carefully. Whether you call it a standard or something else, there are standard sizes for windows that are pre-manufactured for large home improvement stores or builders’ merchants, making them quite affordable. These sizes are also commonly used in rental housing construction, much to the tenants’ benefit, as the vertical blinds from discount stores then fit.

Whether you call it a norm or something else, there are standard sizes for windows that are pre-manufactured for places like Bauhaus, Hornbach, etc., making them relatively affordable. These formats are also commonly used in rental housing construction, much to the tenants’ delight, since then the vertical blinds from Aldi fit. I never claimed that standard sizes don’t exist.
However, the industry hardly produces anything in advance anymore in the residential sector, as almost everything is now made to order. And with made-to-order, customization is possible. Whether ordered on-site or by phone. But I’m not talking about hardware store chains or suppliers who want to flood the market with standard products.

Homeowners miscalculate a lot of supposed must-haves (which they don’t actually need, but after all, the Hoppenstedts have them too), and windows end up being the trade where they try to make it up again with deep-discount deals. Oh dear. It’s the customers’ fault if you can’t adapt to changing market conditions. They spend money everywhere anyway; it’s just that too little of it stays with you.
You can hear this complaint from any trade that isn’t doing so well anymore.
Especially since, if I remember correctly, you produced aluminum windows. A luxury product that is more than 50% more expensive than the PVC systems that clearly dominate single-family homes.
What else is there to say?!

But that’s also part of the market: if the customer thinks they only need to switch money instead of actually earning it, the supplier can say “no” as well. We indeed only produced aluminum and would have continued doing so. But demand shifted toward plastic, so we also calculated plastic for ourselves – and saw that with the price expectations of discount-driven customers, you can no longer support twenty families comfortably – so the decision against in-house production was clear. Customers will only continue to find shifting their purchasing power acceptable as long as it does not affect their own jobs.https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/
