It would be great if some of you could share pictures of your terraces. With so many options available, it can be difficult to make a decision.

What materials and colors did you choose, and why? What has your experience been like after 5 years or more? How large is your terrace? What did you pay for it? Have you incorporated any features such as umbrella stands, raised garden beds, or similar elements? Did you do the work yourselves? Do you know any reliable suppliers for materials that you would recommend? What would you do differently next time?

There are surely many other homeowners who would appreciate photos and tips. Thanks in advance!

I was planning to use a setting, water-permeable jointing material for the terrace joints. I contacted tubag to ask for their recommendation, and it turned out that they do not offer any suitable product for loose-laid terrace slabs on gravel.

What are your experiences with loose-laid terrace slabs (not paving stones, i.e., thickness about 2-4cm (1-1.5 inches)) combined with setting jointing material?

Built three weeks ago during vacation: about 40 m² (430 sq ft) of WPC decking.

Modern white house facade with large glass sliding doors, gray terrace, outdoor furniture, and water feature.

Funny enough, the new residents here also tend to place their small pots in the corners and along the edges in what feels like a zigzag pattern on their new decks.
I think we did the same.
Hopefully, that will change over time.

Haha, yes, it was the same for us... At some point, you realize it's much nicer when the terrace is a bit overgrown later on, and the flower beds naturally expand right next to the terrace.

Well, our large pot at the edge of the terrace holds at least 15,000 liters (3,962 gallons) ...
