Hello,

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything in the search regarding my question....
Can someone tell me the annual heating energy demand per square meter allowed for a KfW 40 / 40 plus house?

Our development plan states that we must stay below 15 kWh per square meter per year, and we hope this is achievable with a KfW 40 house.

This is not a requirement for construction, but rather concerning the district heating connection.

That is clear to me, but we would prefer to avoid the district heating connection and instead install a heat pump.

Just google
The Energy Saving Ordinance, EnergieAgentur.NRW
I found it somewhat understandable

Primary energy demand according to the Energy Saving Ordinance is about 64 kW
The minimum requirement for KfW 40, referring only to primary energy demand, is 40% of the 64 kW, which is about 25%
Anything exceeding the minimum requirement qualifies for funding under the maximum KfW 40 standard

PHPP, meaning Passive Houses.
A simple "KfW 40" house is not sufficient here. Of course, you can build a KfW 40 house, but the requirements are significantly higher.

Just search for PHPP online; the website outlines the requirements for a PHPP house, which you can then compare with your planned design.

I would build a house to the energy saving regulation standard and use the money saved—somewhere around 20,000 to 30,000 euros at least—to go on vacation 10 times instead of building a passive house.

He wants to avoid the compulsory district heating connection. I would do the same.
