Hello everyone,
We need to get joint compound for our painter now. The base materials are gypsum fiberboard walls and gypsum plasterboard ceilings.
He doesn’t have a strong brand preference, normally he uses Knauf UniFlott, which he says has inconsistent quality. In terms of application, he prefers Gima joint filler. There is also Rigips Vario, which can be used without reinforcement tape, and Rigips Super joint filler, which requires reinforcement tape. There is, of course, a price difference:
Knauf 33 EUR
Gima 32 EUR
Vario 38 EUR
Super 22 EUR per 25 kg (55 lb) bag
Are there any significant quality differences here? In another forum, I read that one should look for a fiber-reinforced product to help prevent cracking. Any opinions?

Ardex 828 is very easy to work with
Can be applied without mesh tape That would have been my recommendation too. I'm currently using it for concrete ceilings/walls. It sets very quickly, so only mix as much as you can apply within about 15 minutes.
