We are currently building a single-family house and had the windows installed yesterday. Now we have noticed that there are different surface textures. Our window installer never mentioned or showed us this. We wanted smooth anthracite-colored uPVC windows. We also showed photos of how they should look on the house (similar to aluminum windows). Now the windows are installed, and we have grainy uPVC windows with frames that are not angular but rather rounded. It looks terrible. We trusted the window installer because he is my grandfather. He gave completely wrong advice, and now we are left very disappointed. It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s family or not. We are paying a very high price for something we never wanted.

Who hired whom, and in what way?
Was there an offer? Confirmation of the contract?
What legal form does your grandfather represent, and who did he have it made by?

Zaba12 Respect for such accusations... "all the money that changed hands unofficially" (don’t take it personally, I just find it sad). I strongly assume that the original poster didn’t have the full picture in mind and now needs someone to blame. Now it’s the grandfather... on the other hand, the original poster hasn’t even mentioned what or how much they paid for the windows. Maybe they wanted them cheap or cheaper, etc.

A lawyer might not necessarily help you; the question is what exactly you signed in the order. Everything else will be difficult to prove. Could you perhaps upload some pictures? At first glance, it seems you received DB 703 instead of RAL 7016. Although a smooth RAL 7016 also has a glossy finish, DB 703 (I have something similar myself) looks "flatter" because it only contains iron mica. We didn’t sign anything! He placed the order without our signature. We have looked into it and, unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do. A lawyer would be extremely expensive, and there’s no guarantee it would help. It’s a pity, but we will have to live with it.

Maybe they wanted it cheap, cheaper, etc. My post is asking questions, not making accusations.
Also, you can’t seriously tell me that when ordering windows from the grandfather, a full formal invoice is issued like when ordering or contracting with a stranger. Please don’t tell me that. What is family for if you’re going to do business with them?

And no photo will be posted.
And does the situation even exist?
