Hello everyone,

What options do you see for a stormproof patio roof that can be partially opened in winter (for example, sliding)? The roof should provide shade in summer (so a glass roof is not necessary) and let through as much light as possible in winter.

Is there a manufacturer for such roofs?

The leafy canopy of a deciduous climbing plant offers these qualities. Nowadays, people often overlook the option of using natural vegetation to achieve privacy, wind protection, and weather shielding.

That’s a good idea. I’m just afraid I don’t have the necessary green thumb to maintain a reliable patio roof throughout the summer.

Or a sunshade sail that can be retracted or removed during winter

It’s already quite windy here. Are there louvered roofs or sun sails that can remain open even during strong winds? We would like to be able to leave our garden furniture underneath them.
