Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Friends of ours also have some items from Gartenmetall, just came to mind. You can really browse nicely on their website as well!

off Topic – Alternative to Corten steel against slugs: stretch two iron wires 2cm (about 0.8 inches) apart parallel around the bed and connect to a 9V battery. The slugs turn away. Very inexpensive.

With Corten steel, the rust layer actually protects against perforation. The copper content prevents snails from approaching because their slime becomes corrosive to them. This effect does not occur with regular steel or painted steel.

I’m sure there are animal welfare advocates here as well.

Does not last long. If there is too much snail slime, you cannot recharge it quickly enough. A friend tried this and the battery lasted on average 3 days.

Then just plug it directly into the outlet; the sight alone will already deter the other snails.
