Häuslebauer4028 Mar 2012 01:10Hello,
Today was finally the day. In the afternoon, we received the keys to our move-in ready home. An expert was also present during the final inspection. There were some minor defects to report, but all can be fixed without much effort.
All in all, considering what I often read here and elsewhere, I am quite satisfied with the construction time of 5 months and 3 days from the groundbreaking, even though it could have been 4 to 6 weeks faster if some trades hadn’t been sloppy. Overall, things went relatively smoothly. Still, I’m glad it’s over for now. Next up is the move, which will surely be stressful, as well as landscaping the outdoor areas.
Once things settle down and I find the time, I might write a more detailed review of my building project and builder.
Good luck

perlenmann28 Mar 2012 07:33Well then, congratulations.
I went through the same situation just under two weeks ago and am now right in the middle of the chaos and handing over the old apartment! I can only say that I’ll be glad once it’s over and I can sit on the terrace 🙂 with a beer, of course!

When you have a chance, please send me some feedback on the construction manager (not the supplier, I already know them) 😉
Kind regards

Hello,
I’m happy for you!
Five months on the foundation slab is a very good timeframe – in the past, people generally planned for much longer, and to be honest, I’m not sure that wasn’t better. Anyway...
Please do that, it’s only beneficial for the users and potential homeowners!
Best regardsThank you, Bauexperte.
You’re right. I’m actually also in favor of a longer construction period, mainly for drying purposes. In this specific case, however, it shouldn’t be forgotten that the house wasn’t built monolithically; rather, the wall and ceiling elements made of brick were industrially prefabricated. In that respect, five months is actually quite long. 😀
I will definitely write feedback at some point, but since the landscapers are all a bit crazy, I need to take care of my outdoor areas first. 😀
Also, I would like to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate Perlenmann and wish them much happiness with their new home.
Best regards

Hello perlenmann,
Great, then I’d like to congratulate you as well!
Please send me some feedback on the contractor when you have the chance (not the supplier, since I’m already familiar with them).
Kind regardsHello,
Thank you.
I will probably share my thoughts on the general contractor here once everything is finished and I have more time. But for now, I still need to remove the laminate flooring…
So, you’ll get updates in due course!
