Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

It feels like the formwork is a bit low for gravel, perimeter insulation, and concrete?
Hmm, the formwork height is about 55cm (22 inches) – the planned thickness of the slab is 35cm (14 inches). I think that should be fine?
I don’t think gravel would be added anymore because the clean layer is planned as a roughly 5cm (2 inches) lean concrete layer.

Because of the blinding layer, which is a lean concrete layer about 5cm (2 inches) thick, I guess no one will add gravel anymore?

then it fits

That puts me at ease! But thank you very much for the constructive feedback!

Our staircase is being fitted!

Light wooden staircase in the construction room, next to stacks of boards and buckets on the building site.

Modern wooden staircase under construction, open oak steps, wall with markings.

Open light wooden staircase in the shell construction; stacked wooden boards and tarpaulin on the right.

We really like it—but it will be removed again until everything is fully painted. The carpenter had some free time and took care of our staircase.

Looks great!

Well, a folded stringer staircase is usually designed for straight stairs where every step is the same size. That’s not the case here, and we wondered whether it would still work for a quarter-turn staircase with varying step dimensions. But now we feel reassured; we also think it looks great with different step sizes and are happy that we made this choice.
