We are looking for a freestanding parcel mailbox – one of those where the delivery person can drop off packages and that has an additional compartment on top for regular mail.

We would also like a system where packages can be deposited from above by any delivery person (airlock system) rather than one with a lock that only allows the first delivery person to unload, after which the parcel compartment is locked (or if the delivery person doesn’t lock it, then anyone can access it).

Since we won’t have a fence and this box should be delivery person–friendly and accessible from the street, it needs to be freestanding.

Has anyone had experience with such a mailbox? Which manufacturer would you recommend? Because it will be placed by the street without any shelter, it must be weatherproof and not rust easily. Appearance: modern, please no cute or old-fashioned styles reminiscent of the turn of the last century or similar.

Your mentioned requirements suggest the Mypaketkasten. Its design would also suit the house. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with it.

We have also looked into this topic thoroughly and decided on the equbo from Renz with multiple parcel compartments. It is available without the electronics as well. However, there is still a significant price premium for the brand name.

Preferred location (terrace cushion box) has never been stolen from. Once even forgot a package there and found it in spring. It was like Christmas.

Please also check whether the parcel box and the expected parcel size are compatible.
I have had several orders recently where the parcel box would have been completely unusable.
I have now granted permission for delivery/storage in the electronically locked garage.

Sorry, typo and accidentally rated the topic.
The solution with an open box only works in “safe areas.” More of a retrofit solution.
Climbee wants a solution with a mailbox.

For larger packages, my mother lives next door. Since most deliveries are usually announced in advance, we can arrange it that way.

We receive a relatively high number of shipments (yes, online shopping— but it’s just practical for those of us who work) and I want to make it easier for the delivery drivers by setting up a box that can fit most packages.

I have already looked into Renz, Rick, but I didn’t find anything suitable with this airlock system—and multiple parcel boxes—well... the thing shouldn’t end up being bigger than our house.

We already live in a relatively safe area, but as I said, I know how much these delivery drivers are pressured, and I don’t want to make them walk around the house every time.
