Hello everyone.
I’m looking for some nice ideas to design our “front garden.”
It faces east, with a bit of southern sun coming around the corner as well.
The actual front garden is on the south side, and the style will likely continue there in a similar way as on the east side...

One idea was to cover everything with stones and let grasses grow.
Another thought was to plant a hedge along the fence.
Or should I keep it more or less as it is and just plant a few new, attractive shrubs and bushes?
The rooms you see are our children’s bedrooms, and unfortunately, there is also a main road nearby (from where I took the photo).

Hmm. Do you have any opinions on this? Or maybe some ideas and tips?

Looking forward to suggestions. Thank you!
Merymery

Low-maintenance gardening is relative, especially outdoors, but perennial gardens with ground cover plants and natural-style flower meadows, acid-loving meadows, etc., still look attractive. Some areas need to be a bit wild to create the right effect.

A pergola with wisteria is also a great privacy screen.

Yes. The "alternative" to my stone idea would also have been ground cover. My mother suggested conifers that don’t shed their needles, but… well, I’d rather go with ground cover.
Yes, that’s true. Pergola with wisteria sounds great. I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks.

There are many beautiful options, from ivy to bear grass to groundcover roses.

I think I would currently need about 5000 sqm (54000 sq ft) to implement everything I like.

Um, do you maybe want to come to my place...? 😀

No, then you would also need a gardener.
Digging in the soil outside is fun, but not when it feels like you have to do it.

Yes, he should be muscular and, of course, good-looking. It could also be two, because of all the work – obviously ... 😀
