Has anyone tried to get funding from BAFA for an air-source heat pump? The seasonal performance factor is set so extremely high that it seems practically unattainable.

Exactly. Our heating technician never had a subsidy-approved system because it is practically unattainable. He doesn’t seem to be the most knowledgeable on the subject, does he?

Almost all heat pumps are on that list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they qualify for subsidies. Our Tecalor heat pump received the funding. It passed a thorough inspection without any issues. Our heating installer said that getting the subsidy usually goes smoothly.

Our heating installer said that funding usually works out without issues. As an air-to-water heat pump? How did you manage that, and what values were used to calculate the seasonal performance factor?
When I calculate with a heating limit temperature of 12°C (54°F) (new build) and a standard outdoor temperature of -14°C (7°F) for our region, I can’t find any Tecalor model with better performance than our heat pump or even close to a seasonal performance factor of 4.5.
