Good evening everyone,
A semi-detached house with 170 sqm (1,830 sq ft) of living space is planned to have a centralized mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery. My general contractor offered the following:
Central mechanical ventilation PLUGGIT over 3 floors (model not specified): €13,580
Enthalpy exchanger: €4,865
Standard allergy filter: €1,800 ("plugvoxx" optional €3,900)
These are gross prices including the contractor's markup. With the standard filter, that totals €20,245.
Honestly, I need to sit down for that. I had estimated around €12,000.
What do you think about this offer?
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Why even go through the manufacturer? Why not just choose a manufacturer who offers that right away? I’m not trying to advertise here, but for example, I’m quite impressed with my Zehnder Q350. The ventilation specialist installed it at our place for the first time and hasn’t wanted anything else since. He said it’s truly a great unit.
We paid just under 165 sqm (1,776 sq ft) 10,000 EUR without enthalpy recovery. The enthalpy unit could still be replaced later and costs about 800 EUR.
It’s a Brink system, Renovent Sky.
A colleague of mine installed a Pluggit system. They are very satisfied with it but were annoyed at the time because nice ventilation grille covers could easily cost around 500 EUR.

readytorumble12 Dec 2018 14:09We have a controlled residential ventilation system from PLUGGIT and are very satisfied with it.
We do not need enthalpy recovery at all. Our indoor humidity stays consistently between 50-60%.
I cannot comment on the costs, as we installed the system ourselves.

Otherwise, it’s physically not possible.
Thank you very much for all the assessments! The high price for the "enthalpy exchanger" was because it was actually the humidifier from Pluggit. I spoke with the general contractor this morning and contacted Zehnder. He also found the price high; we agreed to request quotes from other suppliers. He wants to provide me with transparent offers; of course, the general contractor’s markup will be added. But that is fine.

we also plan to install the system ourselves.
Do you perhaps have a guide on the procedure?
Are the ducts then supposed to be embedded in the screed...?
