Hello,

I have a question. In our house, the large bathroom currently has two sinks side by side. Since we don’t need one of the sinks, I would like to remove it.

The sink was installed there five years ago by a professional company.

My concern is this: If I remove the sink, there will probably be one or more holes in the tile (after all, the sink has to be securely fixed).

Unfortunately, we don’t have matching replacement tiles... Does anyone know how these sinks are usually mounted? Are there just a few small holes in the tile, or could the tile also be discolored, for example?

If major damage is to be expected (the tile behind covered in holes, strongly discolored tile, etc.), I would rather leave the sink in place. Although it bothers us, it still looks better than a completely damaged tile. However, I could cover up 1 or 2 small holes...

Looking forward to your reply.

Attached are two pictures.

Thank you very much 😉

I can’t say anything about the hole size of the brackets—but wouldn’t the holes for the two water supply lines and the siphon bother you much more?

So, these are not just one or two small holes; there are two, if not even four of them, and they are at least M8, more likely M10 threaded rods... I’m not sure about the discoloration.

Thank you very much. That already helps me a lot. Then I will probably leave the sink as it is.

Best regards 😉

Here is how it looks behind:

The threaded rods can be unscrewed and the holes filled with putty. However, this becomes more difficult when it comes to the drain and the angle valves.

That’s true. But we would probably place a cabinet there.

Great, thanks a lot. It actually looks good... I can’t see any discoloration of the tiles. That helped me a lot 😉
