Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

With us, it took 4.5 months from erecting the walls. There was no pre-installation inside the walls.

Some timber frame companies deliver with plaster, windows, plumbing pipes, etc. included.

Solid construction under 8 months is only possible with significant risk and at the expense of quality. You cannot defy the laws of physics, and drying times must be observed. Timber frame construction, of course, is much, much faster.

For us, it took 11 months from the foundation slab to moving in. During that time, there were 4 weeks of delays due to cold weather and another 4 weeks probably caused by some slowdowns, not sure. Overall, it was fine.

I see it differently. We moved in 6 months after the ground was first broken – solid construction.
Drying times were only for the foundation slab and screed, and these were fully observed. And that was regular screed, not anhydrite (is that the right term?).
Our house is very dry.

We worked with an affordable general contractor, but our building supervisor had no quality concerns, even though he is generally critical of this budget chain.
Nothing significant went wrong.

Of course, there were no long waiting periods – most were about a week, I believe.

So, we had about 7 months from groundworks to moving in with timber frame construction for approximately 285m² (3,067 ft²). If the general contractor hadn’t delayed so much, 6 months would have easily been possible. We had a concrete slab, screed, and drywall that all needed drying time. To be fair, it should also be mentioned that about 8 months passed from signing the contract to starting the groundworks.
