Hello everyone,

I’m new here and hoping for your help.

We would like to convert our covered terrace on the first floor (total of two floors, meaning the neighbor’s bathroom is located above our terrace) into living space, provided that the structural engineering allows it. If the structure permits, what kind of costs should we expect?

The terrace measures 8 x 3 meters (26 x 10 feet) with a standard floor height.

Do you have any experience with this?

Many thanks in advance! )))

Have you already checked with the building authority whether you are allowed to add another floor, and if so, under what conditions?

Kind regards

Yes, building right up to the boundary is no problem. :0)
I just have no idea about the costs... :0/

The cost question cannot be answered quickly; I don’t know the specifics of the plot and I don’t have a crystal ball.

That depends… is the site easily accessible, etc. I think you should budget around 40,000 euros (plus or minus 5,000) plus architectural and structural engineering fees.
