Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I am an engineer and there is nothing complicated about it! It’s simply logical, don’t you think?
I think we are both right, after I did some research.

So to the others: Make sure to have the pipes insulated.

No, it isn’t. At least in our case, the cold water is significantly colder than room temperature, especially in winter. For example, the cold side of the faucet often gets condensation when taking a bath. So why wouldn’t the same happen to the wastewater pipe?

Glossy black granite? That was used everywhere for flooring 20 years ago. In my opinion, it just doesn’t look good anymore. Haven’t seen it in ages...

I have that in my old office building – and I think it looks really cool. It has a lot of style... something most houses are missing these days.
I find the window somewhat... narrow. With such thick frames, hardly any glass area is left.
Unfortunately, you don’t realize things like this during the planning phase.

I find the window a bit... narrow, actually. With those thick frames, there isn’t much glass left.

@Fenster. Yeah, that’s true. That’s why the front door will be made of 3/4 glass.

It is anthracite. As already mentioned, this stone is one of the most commonly purchased for window sills. It will match the kitchen and the fireplace very well. We like it.

Padang dark. This is the standard nowadays for anthracite-colored windows because it fits well. I think they barely stand out in combination; we like it too.
A matter of taste.
