We have just received two quotes for windows. The building is an industrial facility undergoing renovation. There are 20 units, triple-glazed, approximately 1.60m x 1.20m (5.25 ft x 3.94 ft) including installation, white, with the same safety ratings.
Quote 1: about 35,000 Euros.
Quote 2: about 9,000 Euros.
That can’t be right? Is there some mistake? Did the second company make an error? Think again!
Quote 2 is from a German company offering windows sourced from Poland. Quote 1 is for windows made in Germany.

Is it purely materials or does it include installation as well?
Is it the factory building that the grandchildren wanted to market?
What will go in there? Startup!

Both quotes include installation, materials—everything. One quotes a little over 200 per window, the other over 1000. We are currently in discussions with provider 2, cautiously probing whether there might be a mistake. However, the person who recommended that provider had the same windows installed in their house and received similarly low prices.
It is the factory building, yes. But marketing it as “grandchild-friendly” was just wishful thinking.
For now, affordable new windows will be installed first.

CrazyChris5 Feb 2019 11:22In terms of price, a lot can be saved with the tilt-and-turn windows, but including installation, it seems a bit too cheap to me. The material itself actually costs only a fraction.
You know the windows? They are okay? Then don’t hesitate to accept them.
The differences are quite significant. Here, eight windows, two doors, one patio door element. Germany vs Poland 3000 net. Poland was cheaper. Material only, since installation is always done by our general contractor. Difference in quality? From Germany, there would have been Rehau profiles, from Poland Veka. Rehau seems a bit finer and more delicate, Veka is rather solid. Otherwise, all windows and doors are okay.
