Hello,

I am currently building a new house and wanted to ask whether I should go with the standard star wiring or the Unicable system. There are a total of 8 outlets, but only up to 4 will be used at the same time. Only one satellite is to be received.

Precise Quad LNB with an integrated multi-switch provides one connection per TV, allowing satellite signal on four devices that can all receive different programs simultaneously. If the devices have built-in satellite tuners, which is standard technology today, no extra receivers or extra FBDs are needed.

What is a realistic price for a satellite system installed in a new build, including installation, intended to supply two TVs with built-in receivers?

600-900 depending on the provider. Our electrician charged 600, but that was a good price. Setup: aluminum dish, dual LNB, three antenna sockets inside the house, two in the living room and one in the guest room. Wall mount made of hot-dip galvanized steel pipe attached to the garage.

Our general contractor has set a flat rate of 1000€ for the complete satellite dish system, including the mounting bracket, roofing tiles, etc., and wiring to all rooms (except bathroom, hallway...).

In my opinion, that's too expensive, but I can't do everything myself if I want to move into a finished house someday. I've already taken on way too much anyway.

Yes, that's just how it is—you either do it yourself or have it done by someone else.

Nowadays, I would only install Sat over IP. And in EVERY room (including bathroom, hallway, kitchen), 2 double LAN sockets.
