Hello,
We found a spot on our wall where the paint has bubbled up. I removed some of it. At first glance, I don’t see anything else, but the wall does have a slight musty smell in that area. About a year and a half ago, we had water damage here. A company dried it out and then repainted the surface. Back then, there were clearly visible water stains on the wall, which are no longer present. Could this be residual moisture? Or is water possibly still seeping through, but in much smaller amounts? Or is there already mold inside causing this? Sorry for all the questions—I’m not an expert. Should this room be left unoccupied for now?

I do not find the photo suitable for identifying the - if at all small and few - black spots as mold spores.

That’s why I’m asking if something should definitely be visible by now, or if the mold could still be hidden here? If it’s just moisture, would I simply need to let it air dry for a few months?

That is why my answer is that the photo is not suitable in terms of quality, as there is no close-up with sharp focus.

It is only damp; there is no mold.
