ᐅ Vinyl Floor Scratches! Are There Ways to Remove Them?

I built a house this year and installed vinyl flooring from the company Tilo on the ground floor. The floor has been in place since August, and recently I noticed several long scratches on it, but I still can’t figure out where they might have come from... My question is, is there any way to remove scratches from vinyl floors?

I would be very grateful for any helpful answers!

Since vinyl flooring cannot be sanded like hardwood, you will likely have to live with the scratches.

Maybe there are some kind of plastic filler pens that can be used to fill the scratches, but I can’t imagine that would look very good.

It is normal and cannot be removed. You usually only notice it if there is some kind of direct light shining on it.

It was the same in our previous rental apartment; if you placed a flashlight on the floor, you could see that it was basically scratched all over.

I have no idea if there is vinyl flooring that is completely resistant to this, but I don’t think so.

If it’s glued down without a carrier board, you can remove the affected planks and glue in new ones. At least, that should be possible in theory.
However, I would be annoyed about scratches showing up after such a short time – maybe from the move?

Wow, that really surprises me.

A few months ago, vinyl was hyped here as THE ultimate invention. Indestructible, affordable, warm, quiet, nice-looking.

That it already shows multiple significant scratches after just 4 months of normal use without any obvious reason is quite disappointing.

Whether it was scratched for no apparent reason is not stated anywhere. In my opinion, something must have happened, because both our house and our office building are equipped with flooring that does not scratch. Our house has project flooring, 25 euros per square meter, with a 0.3 mm wear layer. The office building used Wineo flooring, with a 0.5 mm wear layer, which is therefore somewhat more expensive.
