Hi everyone!

My mom moved into a newly renovated small house 11 years ago.
She had to take over the 3-month-old kitchen (3,973€ list price) for 3,200€.
Now she has been given notice for personal use...
How much can she still sell the kitchen for, and is the previous owner even required to take it?

My mom definitely does not want to keep the kitchen! (It was all pretty low quality, I think it was from a Spanish manufacturer)

Thanks in advance

Why on earth would the landlady buy them? She’d probably sell them for 150€ to local pick-up buyers on eBay Classifieds. It’s better for her to just pocket the small amount herself.

Everything that needs to be said is already in #2:

You can’t force anyone to buy something. If the new tenant doesn’t want them, then they don’t want them. And after more than 10 years, the value is basically zero anyway.

Because she wants to have them for some unknown reason.

Wrong – kitchens and furniture are depreciated over 25 years.

I would always take a closer look at the website, including the date used as a reference.
Not every site provides the correct information.
And furniture over 25 years... haha... that’s hard to believe.

For tax purposes, kitchens are depreciated exactly as I said, over 10 years.

Correct!

Just a brief final remark:

My mother could sell the kitchen for 1200€ (approximately $1300). Since she herself did not think that was possible, after receiving the payment she refunded the buyer a 300€ (approximately $325) discount.

Why?

Long story short, the buyer was a relative of the painter. Everything was accounted for together a bit.
So, in the end, she sold the kitchen for 900€ (about $970), or rather, gave the kitchen away and had the whole house painted.
