Hello everyone,
We are planning to install a ground source heat pump.
Does anyone have experience with the maintenance of these systems?
Is there a regular inspection by the chimney sweep or anyone else to check the system?
Or put another way, are there any wear parts that need to be checked and possibly replaced periodically?
For example, the pump, any filters, etc.?
And what other operating costs can be expected?
Best regards,
Ostsee

What exactly do I need to request to ensure that the heating system is properly sized? In Germany, there is practically nothing without some applicable standard. Where standards no longer apply, the generally accepted rules of technology (Allgemein anerkannte Regeln der Technik, ART) apply. It’s a complex topic.
Simply request a complete heating system design and have it reviewed externally. It should include:
1. Energy saving ordinance / KfW verification - optimization
2. Air volume plan / ventilation concept according to 1946-6, if controlled residential ventilation / heat recovery is planned
3. Heat load calculation according to 12831 (this includes determining room temperatures, among other things)
4. Heating surface dimensioning for radiators / underfloor heating / wall heating according to EN 442, 1264 => heat pump optimization
5. Dimensioning of domestic hot water preparation
6. Pipe hydraulics
7. Selection / recommendation of heat generator
8. Consumption forecast
The chronological order is mandatory. You should definitely have a consumption forecast created, reviewed, and included as an attachment to the contract.
Along with the proper contractor declaration, this provides good security.
Best regards.

Dachübernkopf11 Dec 2011 11:49This topic is very interesting. We are currently planning a single-family home and are considering a ground source heat pump, with a plot size of about 700–800 m² (7,535–8,611 sq ft) available.
We have an appointment next Friday in Munich and will be getting advice from ZWS. Does anyone have experience with this?
We are beginners and want to gather as much information as possible. Both of us work and are looking for an automated heating system. However, we are still unsure whether to choose a local heating engineer. I think ground source heat pumps are still not very common?

Dachübernkopf11 Dec 2011 11:56I need to add something.
I am a garden enthusiast—can I still create my dream garden if I have these geothermal loops installed in the yard? Will my plants survive? And what about animals? I plan to keep a few goats, as well as a dog and various other small animals. I assume I can no longer let them roam freely on the lawn, as their urine could damage the heating loops, right?????????????

Hello,

Dachübernkopf schrieb:That’s a misconception! Also, only shallow ground collectors affect vegetation. By the way, the absorbers don’t affect the plants at all. Vertical probes, on the other hand, do not impact the garden!
