Hello everyone,
I’m interested in how a bricklayer estimates the shell construction costs. Is it usually done very roughly?
All our window lintels are in the ceiling. Using CAD, I can calculate the wall areas minus the window openings.
Is this how a tradesperson would calculate? For example, using the area with 35.5 Ytong blocks?
Looking forward to any tips!
Best regards, Alex

Hello Caspar,
valuable tips. Thank you very much!
We are planning to build with Neopor formwork blocks. According to the supplier, the wastewater pipes are cast in place and therefore concealed within the wall.
I will review your comments in detail this evening...

How do I install electrical or water pipes in exterior walls?
Electrical wiring and water pipes can be installed in all walls. The outermost layer is 5 cm (2 inches) thick and can accommodate all wiring and switch boxes.Drain pipes: Vertical drain pipes can—if permitted by the structural design and thermal insulation requirements—be integrated into the concrete core of the formwork elements. The pipes are thermally insulated by the VHG element and well soundproofed by the mass of the concrete. However, for ease of maintenance, a separate installation shaft is always preferable. Then I’d say let's get started.
...and everyone says something different...
...for inspection reasons, however, it makes sense...
I will then provide shafts wherever possible. (What are the usual dimensions?)
In the attic, I currently can’t imagine how it could work any other way...
If you want to get from the attic to the bathroom below, you would have to go 2 m (6.6 ft) through the ceiling toward the south and then 1 m (3.3 ft) toward the east from there... I don’t think that will work...

No!
I would like to:
- educate myself on the subject as much as possible (I am not under time pressure)
- work together with a local architect on the detailed design
- create the specifications together with him, but without being taken advantage of, since I have a moderate understanding and can verify the volumes based on my model
- then collaborate with him to contract cost-effective companies, preferably also from abroad
Regards
