Hello everyone,

We are planning to build a mid-terrace house. We have already purchased the plot of land.
What are the next steps? What do I need to arrange and in what order?
For example, architect, structural engineer, and so on.
Where should we start, more precisely?
Is it better to hire a single professional for everything, such as the architect, structural engineer, and construction management?

Thank you in advance.
Best regards

A gap between terraced houses? Are there actual exterior walls between each terraced house? Sorry, I don’t understand.

So, there are two houses to the left of us and one house to the right. We are building in between.

OK, one more try. Is it about a townhouse or a single-family house? Townhouses are attached, sharing only interior walls between units and having a common roof.

This is not that hard to understand. There are two houses with a gap between them. This gap will now be filled with a detached row middle house, and the others will no longer be detached but end-terrace houses.

I just can’t imagine it that way. As far as I know, a terraced house is built completely from scratch and not simply “squeezed” between two existing houses. In that case, is the brick cladding removed from the existing house, or does it remain in place?

Thank you, horoz, for the picture. I hadn’t actually seen it like that before.
