I am curious to know which ceiling height you chose and why.

If applicable, also from the basement if you built one.

I just measured our existing house built in 1974. -> 2.44m (8 feet)

It would probably need to have the same height. I never really paid much attention to it before dealing with the whole house issue. But gradually the topic became more interesting.

Thanks a lot for measuring!

Yes, they look good, but only from one side, and unfortunately, it’s the wrong side. Namely, the side the door opens toward. Which door opens into the hallway so that this “chocolate side” could be seen there?

But I guess it’s a matter of taste. The surcharge is about 60% compared to a standard door.

We have them opening into the hallway on the ground floor so that the “chocolate side” can be seen….

But how light is supposed to come through or how it would let more sound in is a mystery to me. When closed, they also rest against an inner frame with a seal. No light gets through there….and they have a magnetic latch so they close quietly.

Is it really worth risking hitting someone with the door just for a nicer appearance?

The hallway on the ground floor is spacious enough, and there are only three doors, with only one actually opening into the hallway. I have no concerns about that.

3m (10 feet) on the ground floor, 2.7m (9 feet) on the upper floor. We would do it the same way again! Very nice!
