Hello dear home builders,
Do you have a water softening system? Is it really worth it, or is it just a money-making scheme?
Our architect recommended one to us, but the question is whether the 3000 euros really justify it.
I think that’s a lot of money.

You don’t know your water consumption per day/month/year?How should I know that? I’m not living in the house yet.

Offered by whom? The plumber from the area who is already working on the site and can also handle maintenance if needed later? From the general contractor’s plumber. I initially wanted to do it afterward, but since the room is already fully built, it doesn’t make sense. Even at this stage, electrical cabinets need to be relocated, etc. A plumber living nearby came by and said, no, please have it done directly by the general contractor.

Having a local plumber service the system is usually cheaper and faster than someone coming from elsewhere. If the chosen plumber is also responsible for heating maintenance and service, they can take care of the water softener almost effortlessly, if it ever becomes necessary.
Regarding the system: Judo is reputable and fine. Have them offer you a Softwell P model, which comes with a second filter tank. The main advantage here is uninterrupted soft water supply and less pressure loss at higher flow rates.

Do you use no water at all in your current living situation? It’s just supposed to be a rough estimate. We have completely different types of water usage. It’s absolutely not comparable. Besides, I don’t know how much because the landlord pays, and there is only one water meter for the entire building.

Um... so what do you pay your consumption with then?
Moon phase + landlord’s account balance: twice grandma’s birthday? Strange arrangements exist...
*wondering and scratching head*Not at all. That’s why I almost treat myself to a full bath every day.
We have a flat fixed-price rent.
