Hello,

I am currently considering tiling our half-turn concrete staircase leading to the basement with the same tiles as on the ground floor.

And covering the concrete staircase to the upper floor with wooden steps.

Do you think it looks okay if both staircases have different finishes?

I have seen a few pictures where the two staircases had different finishes, and it generally looked quite good.

I wouldn’t have any qualms about that.

I don’t see any problem with that either. Friends of ours did it that way, and it looks great. Why not?

As long as you stay "on pattern" for the respective floor, I wouldn’t see any problem with it. :-)

There were just a few voices saying, "I would prefer to keep it consistent."

Thank you for your opinions!
