Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The whole house looks extremely dark, like something out of a horror movie. Unthinkable for us "southerners" to build something like that, but people in the north seem to like it.

I’ve mentioned this elsewhere before: I would have chosen light red brick with a red roof and white windows, but I don’t live here alone.
Yes, it’s dark, but the inside is very bright, and once some greenery grows around it, that will soften the look.

Come on, I want to see more pictures!

Exactly. That’s why I find it amusing when people who normally pay attention to "organic" products install ceramic tiles with a wood appearance. You would expect those people—perhaps even more than me—to find such products as “genetically modified” rather unappealing.

What is the royal Bavarian mayor’s requirement about: a specific color from a list or range of shades for the roof and windows, or “if gray, then roof and windows must match”?

To achieve “absolute color matching” between different materials, you would need to specify by Pantone; it’s not possible with RAL— the term “similar” in RAL-based color specifications for construction materials is no coincidence. This difference is less about variation within production batches and more about how the same pigments appear differently on various surface qualities.
It only concerns the roof color, which then influences the window color. The development plan specifies roof covering in red or light gray. The mayor’s interpretation is—red ranges from light red to chestnut, and light gray means light gray. See photo.
We wanted windows in RAL 7016, but it looks poor with the light-colored roof tiles.
