ᐅ Exterior venetian blinds – which manufacturer? What are the differences?

Hello!
We need external sun protection for our protruding bay window, which is made entirely of glass, to prevent heat from entering the house. All other windows already have electric roller shutters, but the bay window was left out, so this is where most of the heat gets in. (We just bought the house.)
I already have quotes from companies. The prices are mostly around 5500 euros. (3 sides, 360 cm (142 inches), 220 cm (87 inches), and 300 cm (118 inches), height about 240 cm (94 inches))
Since I don’t know much about the technology, I wonder if there are differences between Venetian blinds (also called blinds or louvered shutters)? Is one manufacturer better than another? Most companies offer Warema or Roma products. Which one is better?

All current quotes include remote control systems, but since we need to connect to electricity anyway, we don’t want a remote control feature.

I read something about CDL slats with Roma. Do these types of slats make more sense? In the quotes, the standard 80 mm (3 inches) slats were always specified.

Maybe you can give me some advice?

Thank you very much!

That was just my estimate. I have nothing against it being cheaper.

You’re absolutely right. Compared to others, this offer is exceptionally good; the range was from 9,500 to 20,000 euros for the entire house.

I’m curious to see how it goes—I have my consultation with the window manufacturer today. I’ll ask for the same components to be offered. Is yours a retrofit box that is then plastered over along with the tracks, or a surface-mounted box where the tracks are installed openly on the window?

Your price seems extremely good.

You are asking me questions. A completely standard insulated box integrated into the window lintel. By the name, I would therefore think it is a box installed above the window.

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks

I had a conversation yesterday with the window installer regarding the venetian blinds. He installs venetian blinds from Reflexa. Does anyone know them? Are they good? In principle, he wouldn't mind if I preferred Warema instead; he would install those as well. However, he has no experience with Warema. The quote is expected in one week.

He already mentioned an estimated price:

About 800€ per venetian blind for 3m x 2.33m (10ft x 7.6ft) and about 500€ for 1.76m x 2.33m (5.8ft x 7.6ft) per venetian blind.

In this setup, both sides (south/west) would be shaded with venetian blinds—so four units in total. He will include the wind/sun sensor as a possible option in the quote but also said that he personally doesn’t find it necessary. This also reflects the experience of my immediate neighbor, who has had venetian blinds without a sensor for two years.

He already gave a rough estimate:

About €800 each for raffstores measuring 3m x 2.33m (10 ft x 7 ft 8 in) and about €500 each for 1.76m x 2.33m (5 ft 9 in x 7 ft 8 in).

Hello Zaba12,

We are currently also facing the decision of whether to install raffstores or not, and if so, how many!

I wanted to ask you—your project should be completed by now. Are you satisfied with your raffstores, and did the price remain roughly the same?
