We still have one year of warranty left before the 5-year period expires.
Now, a drawstring of the blinds has broken, and they move up and down unevenly.
Our builder refuses to cover this under warranty because it is considered a movable part.
The repair, including disassembly, is estimated to cost around 600 euros.
Now my questions to you: Wouldn’t something like this be covered under the builder’s warranty?
We had a turnkey contract.
Thanks in advance.

By a movable part, something else is meant ^^ Movable refers to parts that are not permanently attached to the house, not that they can be physically moved or pulled, for example. A shutter is clearly a fixed part of the building since you do not take it with you when you move out. Whether a pull cord is a wear part is doubtful at first. If it were a wear part, it would have to be designed so that replacement is easy and inexpensive.
PS: This is also one of the reasons why shutters are usually operated electrically rather than opened and closed by hand.

Repair including disassembly etc. is supposed to cost around 600 euros. What kind of blind are we talking about here? It must be quite large, right? Or is it a venetian blind / external louver (also called a "Raffstore")?

I doubt that though. If it were a wear part, it would have to be designed so that replacement can be done easily and cheaply.Tell that to the automotive industry. Think of car lamps in some models.

ps: that’s also one of the reasons why blinds are not opened/closed manually but are usually installed with electric motorsMost people I know have electric roller shutters or sometimes venetian blinds. For electric blinds, it’s quite rare.

For several years now, it has been mandated by directive that bulbs can be replaced without much hassle. This does not apply to Xenon and LED lights...You are right about the shutter. I was considering the part integrated permanently into the house, not the "pleated blind" hanging at the window priced at 600€. As mentioned countless times, a picture is worth a thousand words. If the component is not a permanent part of the building, it is not covered by the 5-year warranty anyway. A "pleated blind" or something similar is not fixed in place, as it can simply be taken along. Nobody takes along a roller shutter or venetian blind...
