We seeded the lawn 10 days ago (fall or spring wasn’t an option, as I didn’t want to chase the company multiple times or let the weeds take over). In any case, we are watering regularly whenever it doesn’t rain, and you can already see some green. Patience is not really my strong suit right now—I’m worried about the gaps so far (of course, I hope it looks better in another 10 days and becomes denser through mowing and branching out).
Anyway: when would you recommend overseeding? Before the first mowing? Or maybe only in the fall or next spring, when it’s cooler and requires less watering?

I would reseed immediately so that the new seed can germinate before you mow for the first time. It’s best to mix the seed with some sand and potting soil -> this helps it germinate better and allows for a more even spread.

we also still have bare spots, sowed in May, watered 2-3 times dailyThe bare spots might still fill in, but they will likely grow with the grass species from your seed mix that are more robust or with the "pioneer species" more typical of grazing pastures. This means you probably won’t achieve the same quality in terms of turf density in those areas.

And can you really walk on it now (meaning tomorrow, day 11)? Usually, it is said not to step on it until the first mowing... *thinking*
