Hello everyone,
We can install a separate meter for our outdoor water tap to save wastewater.
The meter costs me €16.50, but I still need the fittings to connect it to the tap. On the other end, I need to be able to attach a shut-off piece where I can connect my garden hose. What kind of adapters do I need?
The water meter is from Hornbach, item 7335625. Can someone tell me which fittings I need for this?

I can confirm ... you have to rent the sealed meter and then pay the plumber What do you need the plumber for?
It apparently varies a lot. In our case, you can obtain the meter yourself (30€ (about 33 USD)), install it yourself, and then call the water utility. They seal it and record the readings. From that point on, you pay an annual fee of 6€ (about 6.60 USD). After 6 years, the calibration expires and needs to be renewed.
We have had the meter for 1.5 weeks now and used about 10 cubic meters during that time because we were installing a new lawn. So far, we have already saved 28.50€ (about 31 USD) in wastewater charges. In a few days, the investment will have paid off, and from then on, it saves money.

That’s strange... usually, water suppliers want their share. I would check again.Already done, they don’t want anything. A photo of the meter sent to the city is enough, and in August the meter reading.

Well, it really varies,
here is an excerpt from the Berlin Waterworks:
We can only accept private meters if they were installed by a company listed in the installer directory of the Berlin Waterworks. You can find a list of our contract partners on our website.Exactly for that reason... it was similar for us... apart from the fact that I don’t want to handle water and electricity on my own anyway.
We would have had to have the water company come every 5 years, then read the meter every 2 years, and so on.
As I said, it just wasn’t worth it for us.
