Hello.
Our builder told us that a TAE socket is no longer required. Modern routers like the FritzBox should be connected differently to get Internet access. As I understand it, a Cat cable is connected directly to the telephone main line, which then goes into the router (FritzBox works)... Could you please clarify what he means by this and if it is really the case?
Thank you.

Ah yes. Okay, I understand that now and can technically approve it as well.

So, to summarize once more for beginners: If you want to use the Fritz as the Wi-Fi “antenna” and the brain of the LAN, you place it wherever suits you best and install a double outlet nearby. Through the double outlet, you then send the LAN back to the main distribution box (HAR), where the wired part of the LAN is distributed.

Where do you see the difference? – The Fritz also has four yellow sockets and two rotating rods.

If it includes the network termination ("cable modem"), then it also has a coax input.

It can also be extended and thus relocated, but not within the scope of an ITK patch panel. In that case, the Fritz device may need to be moved to the connection room, and a separate Wi-Fi access point would be required.

Or have an empty conduit installed from the connection point to the Fritzbox, so the cable can be pulled through later, whether it’s a telephone cable or coaxial...
